"The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights." Habakkuk 3:19

Habakkuk was a prophet of Yahweh and the book of Habakkuk is in the Old Testament. It is written as a dialogue between God and Habakkuk where Habakkuk is asking hard questions about the lawlessness and injustices he was seeing in His time. It's a raw and honest book that doesn't shy away from hard questions. Yet, it ends with this courageous declaration as a resolve to remember the truth that God is our strength; and He isn't finished with our stories, the story of our nation, or the story of redemption.

It's a declaration of determination to hold onto hope in God, no matter what the circumstances.

I've always wanted to do a painting with a deer to remind me and others of this verse and encourage me to lean on God's strength every day.

Here's to the strength from Yahweh God that enables us to tread in high places with Him!
