Seasons of Change

It's been a while since I was last in touch. I hope this finds you and your loved ones well!

I'm writing because there has been so much happening and many changes in the past year. I'd love to give you some of the highlights and let you know what's coming too.

Would you indulge me for just a couple minutes?

One Year Ago...

I released my first book, One Voice, The Art of Spending Time With God.

This book was a labor of love that really began more than 15 years ago when we were in Togo. I had to learn how to study the Bible and hear from the Holy Spirit with nothing but my Bible, pen and paper. In this book I share the very practical lessons I learned so that you can take a season to intentionally dial in, and learn how to study the Bible with the Holy Spirit as your personal teacher.

You can find out more about the book here

Ten Months Ago...

I released my second book, Strategic Prayer, Harnessing the Power of Prayer Today for Victories Tomorrow. This book will take you through a 40 day devotional. It will teach you how to set up a month long prayer journal that is repeatable, Spirit-inspired, Scripture-filled, strategic, and sustainable. Seriously, I have been using this method for more than twenty years, and I've only had three different journals.

Seven Months Ago...

I changed the name of my business and website. It went from Bless My Soul Studios, a name that primarily focused on art, to simply Melissa Joy Miller. The new name allows my business and website to encompass both my art and writing. Recently I wrote a few blogs about the topic of joy.

     You can find them here.

Six Months Ago...

My daughter got her drivers license, a job, and a car. She is our youngest, so my days as the chauffeur-mom are behind me. The era of scheduling my weeks and days around my kids drop-off and pick-up times for school, and other activities, is behind me. (insert happy-face and sad-face emojis smooshed together) :)(

Three Months Ago...

Our son graduated from high school. This week we moved him into the dorms for his freshman year of college. I'm impossibly proud of my kids! I'm also experiencing some grief as that part of my life is behind me. Again insert happy/sad-face :)(

So many changes. It really is a season full of wonder as I look back and wonder how it all went so quickly, and how I could possibly be so blessed. I'm also looking forward to the future, wondering what is in store for this new season of my life.

Very Soon...

I will be releasing the beginning of a full collection of art work; a collection I have entitled, WONDER. It's been a delight as I have turned to the canvas to help me process all these changes. I am using every art skill I have ever practiced, all in one style called Abstract Realism.

The results are full of color, movement, and texture.

The impact is calm, peace, and joy.

In a few days...

I will be sending an email to giving you a preview of a few pieces in the Wonder Collection.

Thank you for giving me a moment to update you on what God has been doing in my life, my family and my work.

I pray God's immeasurable and abundant blessings on you and your loved ones.

Melissa
